Our University started out as a teacher training college in the 1960s in response to a national shortage of teachers. Today we continue to shape our courses and research around critical social issues both nationally and globally. The University has enjoyed substantial growth in student numbers over recent years and we have developed into a broad based University offering some 20,000 students a wide range of programmes.
The Kent and Medway Engineering, Design, Growth and Enterprise (EDGE) hub is a new innovative £60m development, planned to open in September 2020. This exciting project will provide a dedicated Engineering space, where students and staff will be able to work on real-world projects in partnership with business. The evolution of Industry 4.0 has seen a paradigm shift in the way in which the engineering industry operates, providing opportunities for smarter operational, environmental and business management.
Christ Church are working with business to deliver a suite of Higher Education courses to equip graduates with the skills to learn and adapt to a changing technological landscape across a multitude of disciplines, including Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design and Software Engineering.
